How Can You Determine What Size Tyres You Need for Your Vehicle?

Erika Matthews

If you have noticed that your vehicle's tyres are worn out, then you might be ready to purchase new ones. Before you can do that, however, you need to know what size your next set of tyres should be. There are lots of different sizes of tyres that you can choose from, so you might not be sure of what you should be looking for. There are a few different ways that you can determine proper sizing for your tyres, however. If you're curious, consider all of these ways of figuring the answer to this important question out.

Check the Size of Your Current Tyres

First of all, if you feel confident that the tyres that are on your vehicle right now are of the proper size, then you can simply look at your existing tyres to determine their size. Typically, the size is printed on the sidewall of the tyre where you can easily see it. If you like your tyres for other reasons, then you can check for information like the brand name and model number of the tyres that you have now. Then, you can look for a set of the same or similar tyres to put on your vehicle again.

Check Inside Your Car

If you are wondering what size tyres the manufacturer recommends for your car, then you can check inside your car for this information. Getting tyres of the size that your vehicle manufacturer recommends is a good way to be sure that you get the best performance from your car. You can often find tyre size information printed on a sticker on the inside of your vehicle's doorjamb, or you can check your car manual for this information.

Consider Changes You've Made to Your Car

Of course, the manufacturer-recommended tyre size is only going to be accurate for your vehicle now if you have not had major suspension work done to it. If you've had your vehicle lifted so you can use it for off-roading, for example, you might need to purchase bigger tyres than what the vehicle manufacturer recommends.

Ask a Professional

If you aren't able to figure out what size tyres you need to purchase for your vehicle after trying the above tips, or if you just want to make things a little easier for yourself, then you can always ask someone from a tyre shop for recommendations about what size your tyres should be. Not only can a knowledgeable professional from a tyre shop give you this information, but they can help you with choosing the right brand and type of tyre, too.

About Me
Choosing the Right Castor Wheels

When I decided to install some new movable equipment in my industrial unit, I set about designing a trolly which could accommodate it. I found this process pretty easy until I had to fit the wheels. It seemed that no matter what type of wheel unit I used, it was very hard to control the trolly. I was about to give up when I mentioned my problem to my brother. He put me in touch with a guy who is a wheel specialist. He recommended I use a particular type of castor wheel. I followed his advice and it worked great! I hope you like my blog.
